For thousands of years, vampires have struggled to keep their existence under wraps. They tried extracting themselves from society, starting their own colonies in remote areas. The humans expanded their empires, thus invading the vampires' space. They tried to stay in their own packs, only socializing with each other. Nosy and friendly humans invaded once again. No matter what their plan was, it was ruined. Finally, they gave into society integrating themselves into human towns fully, trying to be discreet about what they really were.
At first, when the groups fully mixed, there were a few problems. The interaction with humans was new, and they weren't used to being around them so much. Needless to say, a few were turned and a few were killed. People began to believe that there was a serial killer or something of the sort, but not vampires. They all took it as a sign to lay low, and that's what they did. It took a little for it to fully be into effect, but it eventually happened.
Seven hundred years passed with few issues. Today, they two groups still live together in almost perfect harmony. The adults get along, the teenagers get along, the children get along; it's perfect. Well, except for a few things. Many vampires are getting too close to the humans. So close, they are starting to fall for them. In fact, some already have. The older vampires find this to be a problem, but the younger ones think it is great. They think the two groups could live together in that much harmony. At least that's what they say. Truly, they're just in that deep and they don't want to change.
